Celebrate Our 20th Anniversary!

Black Rock Forest Consortium celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2009!

We kicked off the year with a luncheon on May 13 at the Union League Club in New York City.  At the luncheon, Ellen Futter, president of the American Museum of Natural History, presented the first William T. Golden Award to Helene L. Kaplan.  Named after the founder of the Consortium, the Award recognizes innovative leadership in promoting science and science education.  The sold-out luncheon raised nearly $250,000 for the Consortium, with many Consortium member institutions, Board members, and other friends of the Forest buying tables or tickets.

Photos and more details will be available on this web site soon.

You can see the invitation, the benefit committee list, and information on supporting the celebration online.

Since its founding in 1989, the Consortium has built the award-winning green Science Center and Forest Lodge; Forest scientists have produced more than 500 papers; and more than 11,000 students visit the Forest annually.

If you weren't able to join us for the luncheon celebration, there are other ways to support our work.  Thank you.
