Consortium Day 2007

Some 200 people -- representatives of Consortium member institutions, friends of the Forest, students, and others -- enjoyed Consortium Day on June 10.

The Consortium gave its annual E.G. Stillman Award to Clearwater.

A special award was given to Walter Millman, formerly of the Newburgh School system, who supported the Consortium from its beginnings and helped create many of the educational programs students enjoy today.

Students from the Metropolitan Montessori School dedicated a bridge across a stream above the Upper Reservoir that they designed and built themselves.

Scientists demonstrated their research projects, including Dr. Hillary Callahan of Barnard College who is conducting below-ground studies of tree root characteristics.

Students learned about ponds, streams, and turtles.

And everyone had fun!
