Forest Orientation

Enjoying experiences in the outdoors comfortably and safely requires education and preparation. Participant orientation is an important component of the initial, in-school stage of program planning and development for educational trips to Black Rock Forest.

Forest staff have prepared a detailed orientation sheet (pdf) that covers Forest usage policies, dress, health and safety, food and drink, fire, the Black Rock Forest patrol, and environmental ethics.  Though your approach may vary in sharing this information, it is important that all of these areas be addressed in preparing students for excursions in the Forest.
