Description: Join us at Black Rock Forest for a performance with master storyteller Jonathan Kruk as he brings to life the rich history, legends, and enduring spirit of the Hudson Highlands.
In Legends and Lore of the Hudson Highlands, Kruk shares captivating tales inspired by the “endlessly rolling hills” and “aspiring mountains” that helped shape America’s story, from the Revolutionary War to the rise of industry and the birth of the environmental movement. Hear the dramatic story of the Great Chain stretched across the Hudson River to halt British ships, Robert Fulton’s revolutionary steamboat, the landmark fight to save Storm King Mountain, and Thomas Cole’s artistic awakening that inspired the Hudson River School.
Special Guest: Jonathan Kruk, the Hudson Valley’s master storyteller. Known for solo shows of ” The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and “A Christmas Carol, he tells why the Hudson. flows both ways. Featured on CBS Sunday Morning, The Today Show and The Travel Channel, Jonathan has eight award-winning recordings and three books, including one on the Hudson Highlands. He’s told tales for decades at countless schools, libraries, historic sites, and festivals.
