Information leaflet published by the NY State Conservation Department which illustrates methods for estimating the age a deer died by studying the skull.  Estimating the age composition of a deer population helps to indicate the degree of annual replenishment of young, as well as the average life span and the rate of decline of various age groups over a period of years.
