An Enchanting Evening at Black Rock Forest!
On Saturday, September 19th, guests gathered at Black Rock Forest for a memorable evening of good food, music, stories, and fellowship beneath the stars. Set along the shores of Arthur’s Pond with the historic Stone House as a backdrop, the evening celebrated the beauty and rich traditions of the Hudson Highlands.
Guests enjoyed a farm-to-table dinner featuring wood-fired specialties and traditional American favorites, along with drinks and live folk music as the sun set over the Forest. As darkness settled in, master storyteller Jonathan Kruk brought the legends and history of the Hudson Highlands and Black Rock Forest to life, sharing tales that connected the evening’s celebration to the land and its past.
Later, guests gathered around the campfire for s’mores, conversation, and one of the simplest pleasures of an evening in the woods: looking up at a sky filled with stars.
With its combination of great food, music, storytelling, and the natural beauty of Black Rock Forest, Into the Woods was a celebration of community, tradition, and the enduring spirit of the Forest — with an eye toward its Centennial in 2027.
