Silent Walk at Black Rock Forest

Date: Friday, December 19th

Time: 5:30 to 7:30 PM

Hike Leader: Jackie Skrzynski

Description: Join Jackie Skrzynski for a holiday pause on this December Silent Walk at BRF. Silent Walks create an unfiltered experience of landscape as art. Rather than seeing representations of landscape in a museum, far from the actual land depicted, viewers physically move themselves through what they were observing. Contextualizing the Silent Walks as an artistic experience allow participants to “turn on their art light”. Attendees will meet in the bus parking lot and walk in silence to Aleck Meadow Reservoir pausing briefly, then proceed back down to parking lot as the darkness of the evening descends.

What to Bring/Wear: Drinking water & a trail snack if desired; comfortable, waterproof boots suitable for hiking; insect/tick repellent. Please dress in layers as temperatures vary, especially in the evening, in the Forest. An email will be sent to registrants with details and directions before the event.
